In 1994, George joined the New York Police Department (NYPD) after completing a six-month training program at the NYPD police academy. His career in the NYPD spanned 20 years, during which he held various roles across different departments.

9th Police Precinct: Community Policing (1994-1996)

George began his career as a patrol officer in the 9th Precinct. As part of his duties, he worked on foot and in mobile patrols, helping keep neighborhoods safe. He also played a role in community policing and building relationships with local businesses and community members.

Organized Crime Control Bureau: Undercover Work (1996-2002)

After gaining experience as a patrol officer, George moved to the Organized Crime Control Bureau, where he worked as an undercover officer. He was involved in “buy and bust” operations that targeted street-level narcotics, illegal guns, prostitution, and gambling activities. His work often required collaboration with federal agencies like the FBI, DEA, and ATF on major cases.

Internal Affairs Bureau: Investigating Corruption (2003-2007)

In 2003, George was promoted to 2nd Grade Detective and assigned to the Internal Affairs Bureau, where he investigated allegations of police corruption, misconduct, and other serious violations. He interviewed witnesses, developed confidential informants, and collaborated with federal law enforcement agencies. He was promoted to 1st Grade Detective, the highest rank for detectives in the NYPD.

In Group 52, George worked on short-term and long-term investigations focusing on the seven major crimes. His work in this unit involved collaborating with agencies like the New York State Attorney General’s office and other federal agencies to gather intelligence, make arrests, and help dismantle organized crime operations. George returned from the NYPD in 2014 after 20 years of service.

While working in law enforcement, George also contributed to the training and development of new police officers. As an NYPD-certified instructor, he taught various police topics, including police leadership and tactics.
